Lawyers and Zombies

Joe Barrett host of Trigger Time Sunday nights on 55KRC posted a very interesting observation on Facebook. He warns against carrying Hornady's Zombie Max ammo because it could be used against you in a court of law.

I had a listener tell me he carried this ammo in his self defense guns, but heard someone say perhaps he shouldn't due to the "Disclaimer" from Hornady. Having read it, I have to say I wouldn't own it either. It doesn't matter if it really isn't any more effective than something else, THIS ONE comes with the instructions by the manufacturer that it should never be used against a human being, and I am guessing an attorney could make good use of that in a civil trial if nothing else. I hope Greg, David, Bill and/or some of the more experienced trainers will give their two cents on this topic.

Disclaimer: Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is NOT a toy (IT IS LIVE AMMUNITION), but is intended only to be used on…ZOMBIES, also known as the living dead, undead, etc. No human being, plant, animal, vegetable or mineral should ever be shot with Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition. Again, we repeat, Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is for use on ZOMBIES ONLY, and that's not a nickname, phrase or cute way of referring to anybody, place or thing. When we say Zombies, we mean…ZOMBIES!

UPDATE: The disclaimer is not on the box. I looked at one today.

Jeanne Assam talked last week with Kate Krueger's Talking Guns on Arizona Gun Radio 1260 & 96.1.

Click here to Listen (at 15:00)

Second Hour (JA it mentioned at 18:00)

Special Thanks to Massad Ayoob for facilitating this interview.  Mas was one of the first people I though of when I began seeking advocates for Jeanne. It was an honor to meet him in St. Louis.

Kate has an interesting page of guest links, some of whom I met at the NRA Meeting and delivered my 30 second pitch about Assam's book (that you can buy on my side bar).
Specifically:

Deb Ferns of WOMA

Julie G from Team S&W

and Kathy Jackson  who runs the Cornered Cat.

Glock on Book TV

Go here for the video.

Good info on the book, but he also talks about the Assault Weapons Ban being bad law.
Guns are fun to shoot (the secret is out).
And that his wife is a better shot than him.
(Video is cut off at the end just as he is talking about black market guns.)

Barrett says much of the same on NPR

And I also found him giving an interview to the most wretched hive of scum and villainy, Democracy Now.

I'm not crazy about the term "Gun Skeptics." It smacks of rebranding, which is common for gun control bigots. (Just ask Handgun Control Inc.)

ETA: It's common knowledge that Giffords owned a Glock 19 (at least it is with gun nuts). Barrett says as much on NPR. It seems like it would be an important piece of information to discuss with Democracy Now, but he does not mention it. I'm willing to bet that he told them before they where on the air, and they told him not to say it.

BOOT the BATFE

Over a week ago, on NRA News, Katie Pavlich broke the story that the DOJ was spitballing the notion of throwing the ATF under the bus.

Now I know this would be a cynical ploy to stop the Fast & Furious scandal from reaching up the chain of command in DOJ or even the White House...

But, I would still call it a win.

Never Forget.

There are so many more reasons to disband the ATF. From Waco to Red's Trading Post.

Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership has been beating this drum for a long time. Click the link for their laundry list.

As a refresher go read Jack Cashill's 2007 eye opener:
What Al Sharpton Does Not Know About Waco

Truth be told, Waco represented the single greatest organized--if largely unwitting--slaughter of black people on American soil since the Battle of Fort Pillow in 1864.

Flooding America with Malice Aforethought

Heard on local radio.

All the flooding that we have seen over the past few months? Turns out environmentalist have been pushing an agenda to stop flood control.

The stable flow of water allowed for the construction of the concrete and earthen levees that protect more than 10 million people who reside and work within the river's reach.  It allowed millions of acres of floodplain to become useful for farming and development.
But after about thirty years of operation, as the environmentalist movement gained strength throughout the seventies and eighties, the Corps received a great deal of pressure to include some specific environmental concerns into their MWCM (Master Water Control Manual, the "bible" for the operation of the dam system).
Things turned absurd from there.  An idea to restore the nation's rivers to a natural (pre-dam) state swept through the environmental movement and their allies.
(A) wildlife biologist with the Corps of Engineers in Yankton, SD, told the Seattle Times that this event will leave the river in a "much more natural state than it has seen in decades," describing the epic flooding as a "prolonged headache for small towns and farmers along its path, but a boon for endangered species."

Rick Perry & Al Gore (WTF)

Rick Perry Was Al Gore’s Texas Campaign Chairman in 1988.

Ho hum?
or
Let's call the whole thing off?

Digging into the forum posts, I am inclined to agree with this argument:

Rick Perry in 1988 was honorary chairman of Al Gore's campaign in the Democrat primary in Texas. Perry at the time was a conservative Democrat State Representative. Al Gore's campaign in 1988 was short lived because Dukakis wrapped up the nomination quickly. Like most conservative Democrats during that period a quarter century ago, Perry made an easy transition into being a conservative Republican, he ran for Agriculture Commissioner in 1990 and was elected as a Republican.
And Also
Al Gore back in 1988 was posing as a moderate Democrat, in fact of all the Democrats running that year Gore posed as the most conservative. He morphed into Mr Climate Change later.

PolitiFact has this quote from Perry:

"Going through that (Gore experience) was part of what started me through the process of changing parties in 1989," Perry said. "I came to my senses."

55KRC 7:05AM Bumper

Local talk radio 55KRC always plays this song at 7:05 am.

Took me forever to figure out which Jack White song this was, so if you where searching like I was, here it is.
